We have had lots of fun making Father’s Day Cards to go with our Monkey theme after reading ‘Monkey Puzzle’ all week by Julia Donaldson.

This week we have read the story and talked about what happens at the beginning, middle and end? What our favourite part of the story is? What the characters are thinking or feeling? We have also drawn our favourite character.

In our Maths we have been counting snakes moving on to our next steps. Some children have started counting and combining to groups of objects and saying how many altogether. Others have been comparing amounts saying which has more or less and continuing with our number recognition up to 5.

We are looking after 5 caterpillars and watching them change over time. We are going to talk about the changes we see as we see them and focus the children on noticing detailed features and gaining more interest in the world around them.
